  1. it looks as if there is two people holding hands at a tea party and the table they are at being hit by a car. he must have felt mad for his love being killed by being hit with a car at a very important part of their relationship. perhaps before they could get married. but he was angry and still remembers her, or him.

  2. I believe the emotions that he artist was having while he was painting this drawing was strong emotions of love.It looks like he found love in a small restaurant back in his past it looks like back during the mid 70's to the 80's. She must of made him really happy that he made a painting in their name of their love for each other of them holding each others hand.

  3. I think that this artwork tells a story about two people who fell in love, and went on a date, and they are in a house, which I think is one of their house. That is, because of the colors that are use in the image that are red, blue, grey, and white. The red means passion, and blue means calm, while the other two colors grey, and white are used for back rounds. This story tells about a person he or she's love life. That's what I think it's about.

  5. think the dishes in the back ground represents the things that may get in your way but no matter what fight threw those things and you will always be with your loves one. it can also mean that there is a relationship thats going bad , i say that because i see the red in the image and red mean angry or love.

  8. When you look at these pictures you can make a story quickly . First a buss girl is washing dishes and one day he had to be a waitress because the regular girl couldn't be there . This rich guy he was a owner of a famous music studio he was home sick and he was tired all the fame so he went to the typical diner . As he walks in the waitress caught his eye .When he walks up to her to ask her for her number . She is suprised that a star like him would go up to her . they go on there first date . As they gaze at eachers eyes they knew they were ment for each other .

  9. I really don't understand the picture but its really nice but when i see people holding hand i think of love but it could also mean different things in stead on love but to me is seems he probably felt in love at a diner with dishes next to them while they hold hands and talk.

  10. I'm not really getting what the picture is but I can see two people holding hands so I think maybe he was missing someone or he wanted to be with someone when he did this. I can also see dishes maybe he met this person he misses or wants to see in a dine in place. I keep saying "missing" this person because by the way there hands are it looks like one had to go all of a sudden. I'm not sure if its an upside down car but that's also giving me a feeling of one of them leaving. Maybe I'm just imagining a car but that's what I see. Or they broke up at the dine in place? maybe ?

  11. well i see dishes, a car , and a womens hands on top of a mans hand. Therefore i feel the story is about a woman, and maybe she is working (the dishes) and she wants to go to where he is(the car)and she misses her signifigant other, so thats why her hand is on his, not the other way around.
thats the way i see it?

  12. It looks like dishes and two people holding hands. I don't know what that red part is but he could've been in love at the time and had an experience at a diner with a woman he liked. He didn't know how to talk to her so he held her hand to show his feelings.

  13. The dishes represents that one of them was working at the restaurant. Washing the dishes for some extra money. And they meet for the first time and soon after married. Some years later they came back to the same restaurant and were thinking about that moment.

  14. I think when James Rosenquist was painting this picture, he was sitting in the kitchen with his wife. His wife was standing in the kitchen doing the dishes, telling him about all the places she wanted to go. James, being the romantic he is, swooped her off her feet and took her to their car, dishes still in hand, and went on an adventure. Afterwards, he felt so amazing, that in order to portray his love for adventure and wife, this is the picture he painted. He felt pretty amazing.

  15. She sat on the stool next to the Kitchen island. Forlornly, she stared at the dishes that had piled up in the sink. They had had so many fights about those dishes. She would ask for his help, he would get upset and yell about it. In the end, she would cry in their room and he would go find a bottle.
Just then, he walked in and smiled at her. Smooth as a spring breeze he slid next to her and gently took her hand in his. He looked her in the eyes, a warm light had taken over him. She felt a new kind of heat rise in her cheeks. She hadn’t felt that warm smile on her in eleven years. He leaned in close and whispered. “I’ll get the dishes tonight.” He cooed sweetly.
She quietly watched him fuss and groan over the plates and spoons. He had gained his youthful cheer that she fell in love with all those years ago. She stood up and assumed his side in work. They laughed and played and cheered as the work passed quickly.
Later in the night they laid in their bed and held each other close. The sound of their hearts beating in unison was all that they heard. They slowly fell asleep, in their day clothes, wrapped in each others’ skin.
She woke in the morning, he was gone, their blue Thunderbird was missing. She took the White day car and drove out into town, where they informed her that he had died in a car accident late last night. He drove into a ditch.

  16. I feel like the man and the woman are exchanging idle chatter at a diner while holding each others hands. They've been together for years, had their ups and downs, but can still enjoy a simple little lunch date and feel like they are falling in love with the other all over again. Maybe they can be talking about their days or how the car is acting up again, maybe about how the first time they came to this diner was their first date and how nervous they were and how silly it must seem to them coming for the 50th time and still feeling nervous. The woman will laugh and say how handsome he looked that day and during that chuckle she'll unknowingly clasp her hand over his. And in that moment, they'll stay quiet and look into each others aging eyes and sigh. That's when the alien spaceship crashes through the diner and the crowd turns into a wild frenzy. The alien, with it's bulbous head and three fingered rubbered hand holding a heavy metal lethal space laser, starts shooting at everyone until they disintegrate into nothingness and a new species takes over planet Earth just to turn it into a parking garage for the super mega space store they created on Mars.

    That is what I see.

I feel as though the author was probably feeling sentimental while painting this. The bright red stands out the most and it's above the holding hands showing passion and love possibly.

  17. When i look at this picture i see the old days. I think the picture represents a man and wife at lunch break. They are a wealthy couple who are waiting for their food conversating. The man drove to the diner where his wife works at. She was washing dishes when he came in.

  18. Well the man is holding the woman's hand and he just proposed. Everything is going great. It seems to me like their on a boat so maybe for their honeymoon they go on a cruise. The woman loves either tea or coffee. Suddenly the woman is hit by either a car or something else when she is out one day. All of those cups in the picture make me think of clouds so maybe now that shes gone every time the man thinks of tea or coffee he thinks of her.

  19. A woman is at home washing some dishes, and doing some other chores. That was when she heard a door being open. With the jamming sound of 1930's music her husband came through the door, and ran to her with a big embrace. The woman was confused about what has gotten into her husband that was when he gave the most great news ever. The husband got a promotion for working hard at his car job, and he's the manager. The wife was happy, and hugged her husband back with full of love, and happiness. They decided to have dinner as a celebration for the promotion. They sat down at their little square table, and ate the food that the wife make. They stared at each other, and then the wife put her left hand on top of her husband's right hand to show her love, and how proud she was. The husband was really happy to have a promotion, but what he was really happy about is that how really lucky to have such great wife to love him, and be with him his whole life.

  20. James was the fry cook at a small time dinner in a one horse town a little off the highway. He had picked the job up from his brother and had idle dreams off Broadway. As much as he wanted to leave this slum, he stayed to help take for his Mother, who was ill and had been for the better part of his thrity eight years.
Chloe worried about a lot of this. She always stayed in doors after dark and locked the door before bed. She had been worried when her father up and moved the family to the middle of no where. She had worried when he said the local dinner had an opening for waitresses. She had worried all through the interview and up to her first day.
Today James's mother had to be hospitalized. He worried about her, prayed she would make it though. She had fought the disease so hard. Too hard to give up now. She had so much to live for. James sat slumped in the chair next to the sink filled with dishes in need of washing.
The door opened and Chloe slipped through carrying two trays of food scrapes and dishes. She rested her back against the door for a moment, not realizing James was also in the room. She drew in a heavy sigh and set about emptying the trays. With a start she noticed James cradling his head in his hands.
"Oh, Jimmy." Chloe said nervously. "I didn't see you there."
"It's fine. Don't worry about it." James muttered.
"Are you okay, Jimmy?" Chloe asked, it being in her nature to worry about other, as well as anything that came her way. She slid into the chair across the table from him.
"I'm fine." James assured her, raising his head and resting his arms on the table top. "Just a small family emergency."
"Well, I know I'm new and all, but if there's anything I can do to help, just give me a call." Chloe smiled. She wanted to help him to feel less alone, because she knew what it was like to have family issues.
James studied her. She was much younger than him, maybe eighteen, but she had wise eyes for her age. As if she had seen much more of the world than most youths. She also looked as if she truly cared about his happiness. He had seen that same gentle, caring look in his mother eyes, back before the sickness came.
In a symbol of her support, Chloe reached across the table and placed her hand over his, giving it a small reassuring squeeze. The gesture was so like his mother that James eyes welled with tears. Hanging his head, he began to cry. Chloe, seeing his distress, simply pushed her chair closer to him and wrapped him in her arm, with way his mother would have.

  21. He drove up the drive way. I knew this because you can hear him lock the car. I just woke up from a nap, the kids were at school. I ran down the stairs because I forgot I was going to have dinner ready for him when he got home. As he walked into the door i got scared because he really hates it when the house is dirty especially piled up dishes. He walked into the kitchen when I was starting dinner. His firsts words were "why are there a pile of dishes". I said "i'm sorry I forgot I fell asleep". We argued through most of the day. he went to go pick up the kids. I had some time when the food was cooking to clean the dishes and clean the house. The kids were back and they went to there room. He came in the kitchen door and saw that it was clean. He was thankful as said he was sorry for arguing he just works so hard and coming home to a dirty house is stressful on him. We sat there at the kitchen table as he held my hand and said he loved me.

  22. There was Jack and their was Miko. They were married for 8 years and they were expecting a baby.Miko was doing the dishes and Jack came behind her and helped her with the dishes. They loved each other so much. Then one night when they were done with the dishes. A friend of Jacks called and it was a emergent call that her husband had to leave. Then she was waiting for him but he never came back. The next morning cops came to her door and she was scared that she did something wrong. When they spoke to her about Jack died in a car accident they told her that he died of a head-on and she was going to have a baby. She told herself that the baby was going to grow up without a father. She was so sad. The only memory's she had about her husband will never be forgotten. Love Miko

  23. 'Finally, Our First Date'
This is a short story about a lady and a man who fall in love. First they meet at a carnival. He makes his move and she makes hers. They both use their charms and quickly fall in love. It was love at first sight. They then try to arrange dates to see each other but work turns out to be that wall between them saying no. One day as the lady, Melody, is up late at night alone in the dinner. Her eyes ass red as the cherries that sit on a pillow of icing of a cupcake. its a tuesday which means it was her turn to clean up and lock up the dinner. Her work continues. She sighs and whispers his name under his breathe.
The streets a quiet all you can hear is the roaring of the wind that whistles and tickles the sides of the buildings. He, Robert walks alone in the streets. Walking home after a long day at work as an actor. All he can say is "slow day". He then thinks of a way to complete his night. He sighs and whispers her name under his breathe. Robert then decides to stop at a near by dinner for some coffee or a beer. "Whatever puts me outa my misery", he says to his self quietly. The bell rings as he swings the door open. Robert then walks to a table with his head down and sits on the smooth, red, sparkly seat. Her hands full of soap from washing a mountain of dishes. That bell sound is Melody's cue. She walks to the table in a low self esteem manner and asks, "Hello Sir my name is Melody and I will be your waitress for the night." Robert lifts up his head thinking he was talking to an angel. As if God was standing there before him. He was in shock and he says, " Hello madam my name is Robert I have been awaiting for your presents." They both stare into each others eyes and remain silent as if there was no existence in words. A record begins to play on the jukebox, 'Angel Baby by Rosie and the Originals'. She sits down at the table joining him. In their heads many words raced through as if they finally discovered words for the first time. Melody lays her slightly wet and soapy hand on Roberts Cold, dry hand. She and he then say out loud,

    'Finally, Our First Date'.

  24. It was a night that no one would ever want to go through. There was a couple that were married since high school that night the wife was making dinner for her husband it was about 8:45 and her husband got out around 9:15. 25. "You don't have to go." She pleaded even though it was no use. His mind was made up, but nevertheless she begged and bargained and just plain cried for him not to go. He sighed and looked at her with sympathy and though he wouldn't say so, he was just as torn up as she. "If I don't go and fight for this country, I will regret it. I don't want to live a life full of regret." She nodded as she wiped away tears. He gripped her hand and held it in his. "We have now, we have this right here." He said, holding her hand in both of his. He lightly kissed her knuckles. "Tomorrow I'm going to be shipped off and I'm going to kill 100 Nazi's just for you and you're gonna write to me everyday and when I come back we're going to get married. But that's tomorrow. RIght now is you and me and now. So let's enjoy it." She nodded once more, her tears gone, not for the comfort but because she had no tears left. They ate, and they joked and sometimes they teared up but they lived and they just were.

So he went to her work to apologize to her she was washing the dishes and he went stright to the back of her work. Grab her by her waist and looked her in the face and gave her a big kiss. He said you mean everything to me they sat down and started talking.

  29. Some people believe that the time to propose can be a stressful, but not for James Rosenquist. He was ready. He believed the perfect time, was after cleaning the dishes.

Shortly after finishing the dishes, James's girlfriend arrived from work, and told him she had the best day at the office. It was the perfect time to ask her. After she told James about her day, James started top tell her about how much he loved her, and finely asked her if she would mary him. She said yes, and they hugged then went about there day in happiness.

Gina secretly had a crush on him and she kept it to herself. One rainy day Gina came to work and Jason was there and her car was stuck in the mud and had no one to ask. All she had was to ask Jason and she was really nervous to ask. Either way she had to ask him. As soon as Gina approached him her heart was pounding faster and faster as she approached him.
As she got closer and got to him she asked him for help. Jason replied with a yes and then he asked her out for dinner. Gina froze as her heart pounded louder and louder only she could feel. Soon that evening they went out and she was really liking it. Jason was really liking Gina and soon asked her out for another date. Months and months past and they soon got together and lived happily ever after.

She began to let her mind wonder, all about how her life would of been if this or that. Well, so came the time of mid-night. And just as it was time to close up shop, a tall lovely man walks in, suit and all, takes a knee in front of her,and says "Darling, would you marry me?"

  37. He stared at his watch and realized how late it was getting. He looked to the skies and watched as the lightest of blue had turned to the darkest,he watched as the stars winked at him ever so brightly. He told his last customer "your new tail light will be costly but i can get it done tomorrow." He closed shop up and wiped the black dirty oils from his hands on his small towel,it had been battered and turned from white to shades of grey and black. The shiny red car he got into roared to life and he took off towards home.Thoughts ran through his mind as he debated in his thoughts what to tell his wife, they fought in the morning about how he never did anything around the house how he couldn't lift a finger he felt terrible. The white house with it's large porch had been through alot with its red trimmings and it's cracks and slits. He entered through the glass door and put his work clothes aside onto the deep brown couch,he sank in it and heard the sound of water on.He took the earnings from the day of working on motors and other assorted car problems. He counted just enough to take his wife out some where nice. He ran his fingers through his thick black hair as he entered into the kitchen. Her long bouncy hair danced down her back as suds flowed over the sink.Hands wrapped around her waist and a deep voice said "babe don't worry about the dishes get dressed I'll get dinner tonight" She smiled and took the yellow gloves she had worn all day off,she watched as he slipped them on and scrubbed away at the dishes. He had finished the last dish and put it in the dark brown cupboard. He walked to the room to see her in her finest black dress her eyes twinkled and he smiled. He put on his dress suit and grabbed the keys. They headed out the door and into his car. Laughing and smiling the whole way to the restaurant they were happy. A waiter took their coats since winter was present and sat them in a nice booth. They looked at each other and smiled he stared at the menu and didn't mind the expenses he just wanted a nice night with his love. Some men in trench coats entered the restaurant and they quickly pulled from under their coats what men fear most. He jumped across the booth and guarded her he said i love you as glass shattered and the cries of innocents rang through the air. He cried as he held her in his arms and felt the sharpest pains in his back as holes filled his body he didn't mind knowing she was safe it meant the world to him.The darkest of red fell on her face when she realized that he was gone she saw as life left his eyes she cried uncontrollably until the cops came. They asked her what had happen she was the only survivor she was to in shock to realize what had happen so they drove her home. The night that had began the greatest in years to her ended in what seemed like a flash it was ripped from her and she couldn't do anything but look at the suds at the sink and cry as the flowed over the sink like her tears flowing over her cheeks.
