  1. We should comport ourselves with the masterpieces of art as with exalted personages -- stand quietly before them and wait till they speak to us." I don't really understand what he is trying to say here maybe he says if you put yourself in the painting it will be more beautiful in your eyes and you can relate to it more

  2. I guess I would have to say he's saying that there's no right or wrong in creating and interperating art.

  3. he is saying that don't try to say what the painting means, try to feel what the painting makes you feel, and then let it have a specific meaning to you

  4. I believe that Arthur Schopenhauer is trying to say is that we can create anything beautiful from the soul core of our hearts and minds but first we must sit and think til we hear the soul of the arts speak to us so we can describe it in any form or way to show to the world that art is a living and breathing thing and that it is all around us and we see it everyday.

  5. I think what Arthur Schopenhauer is trying to say is that when you see an art masterpiece it tells you a story of what the person is feeling, or of what it's trying to tell you. It depends on that type person's art work.

  6. Schopenhauer discribes sitting in front of a great piece of art and draw muse from greatness. much in the same way people used to draw wisdom from the elderly by simply being around them.

  7. We need to study what impresses and inspires us in order to think up our own original concept. The poetry inside their art is understandable the more we TRY to understand it instead of just not even trying.

  8. I think he's saying that in order to be great, you have to let other people see why you're great.

  9. I think he is trying to say look at other art and get inspired by it. If you like something, look up to a certain artist try your hardest. Let there are be your inspiration to do better and practice at it until you get your art the way you want it to look.

  11. I think he is trying to say is that a artwork masterpiece has its own story behind it. And we need to figure it out in our own way. Its depends on the personality that the individually has.

  12. what i think he is trying to say is that to just look at the art or masterpiece and to see what it tells you like if it speaks out to you.

  13. That we are a model of art. In othere peoples eyes. What you think in your mind is great in your eyes. No matter what enyone thinks aboutnyour art.

  14. I think he means that when one is examining a piece of art, we should not force ourselves to try and see something. If you are looking at a painting and someone tells you that is it a sailboat, then you are going to force yourself to see the sailboat, even if you do not actually see the sailboat. You should let the meaning come to you organically.

  15. To be honest I really don't understand what that quote really means but I think it means that we should feel right about expressing ourselves in our art work

  16. I think he is saying that if you let your hand go wild and draw whatever and after your done with your art work to take a good look at it and see what your imagination brings out and what you see.

  17. i think it means if you just draw things with out thinking of what you are drawing you art work would come out better

  18. I believe he means that if you think what you draw, therefore draw what you see, it gives you a different out look on what you've gotta actually draw and the type of technique that you are doing.

  19. i think Schopenhauer was trying to make a clever little joke saying that art was like polite behavior. where as you don't paint until you know what to paint. or the canvas "speaks to you". and in polite behavior you must not speak to someone until they say something to you. he was attempting a clever little joke.

  20. i really dont know what to say buuuuuuut.I think he means if you stop and think and realize what your looking at that whatever you think of would come perfectly.i dont know.

  21. Waiting for a struck of inspiration . sometimes you have to have a stare and study a piece to feel influence .

  22. just give it time and the art will come to you and you'll see what it really means and what you think of art.

  23. In my opinion he is trying to say that you can see a painting and the more you look at it quietly and thoughtfully, the more emotion the painting gives you and makes you understand it more.

  24. if we muse art and ourselfs with it, it will create a masterpeice or if we compare art with us, it will be pretty cool.

  25. I can understand this and relate to it. There is no wrong answer and art is a beautiful thing and if can be quiet and can be loud and speak out.

  26. I think the quote means that you can make a painting , but that you have to wait in order to really get comfortable with your painting and to just give it time to make your own work of art .

  27. I think it means that we should prevent ourselves with the kind of behavior and manners we would expect from others. We should always be composed but still have a personality. We should wait for someone else to speak to you, then show your opinion and back it up.

  28. I believe he's trying to say that we need to respect the works for other artists. To treat other's art as you would like others to treat yours.

  29. What he said was hardly cryptic; he is essentially saying that Good art is like good people, and that you should simply respect and learn from it. I suppose he could also sort of be saying to look up to art, in a sort of "don't get discouraged, but inspired" sort of way.

OR MAYBE, he even intends to say that you should be exceptionally comfortable with your art.

  30. Maybe he is trying to say that you can relate yourself with a piece of art. It doesn't have to be like drawing art it could be like music.SO i would say that in life you can relate an event or something to art that can give you a different prospective of life.

  31. i think he is saying we need to really appreciate art for what it is and try to relate our selves to the painting and form a bond with the painting

  32. What he was trying to say is that paintings already have a pre existing meaning within them, so we shouldn't try to guess what it means, we should let it come to us, and if it doesn't who cares we all have our opinions and thats okay.

  33. I don't really know what it means but, I think he is trying to say that when people judge your art you should listen to what they say and not be rude and except their judgments to get better in your art work.
